Day 2

Big skies, two Great Lakes and gas, always getting gas.

Motorcycles get great gas mileage....like 45+ miles to gallon....unless you are riding a 6 cylinder monster like Schult'z Valkyrie.  And, the tanks are smallish so paying attention to gas stations in rural areas is part of the game.

Crossing the upper peninsula of Michigan into some "iffy" skies.  It never did rain and this road, M72, took us through a very beautiful Huron National Forest.  At the time I took this I figured Schultz was going to get hurled into the sky like Dorothy and Toto.

Lake Huron, Tawa City MI                  Lake Michigan, Elk Rapids  MI

2 Great Lakes, 123 miles apart

We did not plan the end of the day so well and scrambled for a hotel in Petoskey MI, still this is the pretty cool view of Lake Michigan from the front door.

And I just like these videos.

All in all a really good day that started with a 2 hour rain delay and ended up with wonderful roads across the upper peninsula.  Off the the interstates and in cruising mode it makes me think about and continue to Follow the Comet.
