In the middle of 3 Great Lakes
That is us, that little blue dot on Schlutz's phone, in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan That is a lot of water.
St. Ignace Harbor at Macknaw City on Lake Huron. You can see both lakes, Michigan and Huron at this point. Almost perfect.
A cursing and a blessing, the GPS on Schultz's bike. Invaluable when we need it, but sometimes it tells him to turn when it is too late for the bike following him to turn. At this point he usually shrugs his shoulders and I come close to crashing.
Trail of Trees, M19, along Lake Michigan. If you look closely you can see that Schultz has decided to scoot ahead.
Trail of Trees.
Have motorcycles, will drink tea, or in this case coffee with some good local crepes.
Coffee break along Trail of Trees.
This is the Mackinaw Bridge, and if you look very closely, very, very closely, you can see the towers of the bridge ahead of Schultz, though they are in the clouds, or fog, or whatever it was. We drove up into it and it was cool and eery.
Something that Schultz climbed called Castle Rock in Mackinaw. Note the requisite pose for Michael.
Early morning, Trail of Trees, MI
Late afternoon, great riding day, lots of sun, landed in Sault Ste Marie, MI and our hotel is right across the street from an Irish pub. What other result could come from this.
Tomorrow we cross into Canada. The weather has been a bit tricky, but we have avoided rain. The roads are getting more and more beautiful. Lakes Huron and Michigan are just really impressive and huge. Lake Superior is next. I can't speak for Schultz, but I will continue to Follow the Comet and I declare this trip Almost Perfect.
Oh, and one more video of the trail of trees.
